The Weiss distillery has a knack for creating original spirits of exceptional quality

What started out as a coffee joint has evolved into a distillery, ice cutting workshop and retail space. For this year’s holiday season, Weiss is taking the grandiose to the next level. This new state of the art facility is a testament to the quality and dedication of the community, not to mention the savvy and unabashed ambition of owners Trevor and Miranda Graham.

The Weiss distillery has a knack for creating original spirits of exceptional quality. While their signature product is a high-end gin, the company also produces vodka, bourbon and whiskey. In addition to the mainstays, Weiss offers specialty cocktails like the Winter Wit.

The company is known for utilizing a few tricks of the trade to ensure consistency in taste and quality. For example, they use a proprietary filtration process to ensure that every sip is smooth and drinkable. They have also tapped into the Weiss distillery Caribbean community by working with local distilleries to produce a signature blend that is perfect for the cocktail enthusiast on a budget.

As we’ve mentioned before, the Weiss distillery is located in Clawson, a quaint enclave between Troy and Royal Oak. The distillery, which opened last year, is a great fit in this community’s already stellar line up of eateries. The Weiss is a short walk from White Wolf and Three Cats Cafe and only a couple of blocks from Zeoli’s Modern Italian restaurant. Not only is the distillery conveniently located, but it’s also in the middle of a revitalized downtown area.

In the spirit of the season, they’ve re-imagined their tasting room with a “grown up” winter wonderland. Several other notable changes are in the works as well, including a two-story apartment building on top of the Ace Hardware store. Lastly, a brand new restaurant is set to open in the next few months.

It’s all part of a grand vision to bring something new to the Clawson community. From its ice-cutting workshops to its signature gin, Weiss is a distillery with a heart. If you’re a fan of finely crafted cocktails and craft beer, this is a must-visit destination. With its new-found buzz, this charming enclave will soon be the envy of the neighborhood. One thing is for sure, this is a place where you’ll want to be for the holidays.
